Create a session

Choose your questions with the session form, then choose how to start.

Use the session form to choose the questions of a new session. Then choose how to start it.

To open one module, one course or one exam faster, use the search.

Open the form

Do one of these:

  • In the menu, select New session.
  • On the Sessions page, select Create.
  • In the search, type new, then select New session.

On a computer, the menu is at the left of the screen. On a phone, open the menu with the button at the left of the top bar.

Choose your questions

The form opens on the first department and the first year of its lists. Change them if they are not yours.

  1. Choose your Department.
  2. Choose your Year of study.
  3. Under Filter by, select Module, Chapters or Courses.
  4. Choose the Module, then the Chapters and the Courses if the form asks for them.
  5. Under Group by, select Exam or Year.
  6. Under Sources, tick the exams or the years that you want.
  7. Read the number of questions near the start button.
  8. Select Start.

If a field is empty, MedLibro shows Please fill in every field to carry on. and does not start.

If the button shows Explore or Draft, you chose that way earlier. See Choose how to start.

What each filter does

  • Department is where the exams come from, such as Constantine.
  • Year of study is a year of your studies, or Residency. The list shows how many questions each year holds.
  • Filter by says how much of the year you want. Module takes a whole module. Chapters takes some chapters of a module. Courses takes some courses of these chapters.
  • Group by says how the form lists the sources. Exam lists each exam, such as EMD 1 2023. Year lists the exam years, such as 2023, with all the exams of each year.
  • Sources holds the exams or the years that the session takes. Select all ticks all of them.

If you change a field, the form clears the fields below it.

Clinical cases sit in the chapter Clinique of a module. With Chapters or Courses, tick this chapter if you want them. The other chapters hold only MCQs.

Choose the residency

If you choose Residency, the form changes in two ways.

  • Filter by adds None and Unit. None takes the whole residency. Unit takes all the modules of one unit.
  • Group by does not show, and Sources lists the exam years.

Read the number of questions

Each tab shows the count of its set. The count of the whole session shows near the start button. 120Q + 4CC (18Q) means 120 MCQs and 4 clinical cases that hold 18 questions.

Add a set

A set is one group of filters. A session can hold up to five sets, for example a module of the 4th year and a module of the 5th year.

  1. Select the plus button at the end of the tabs.
  2. Fill in the form of the new set.

To remove a set, open its tab and select the bin button at the start of the tabs.

MedLibro names a new session from its tabs. You can change the name later.

Choose how to start

The start button has a small arrow on its right. The arrow opens a menu with three ways to start.

Choice What it does
Start Adds the session to Sessions and opens it.
Explore Adds the session to Sessions and opens it with the answers shown.
Draft Opens a temporary session, which stays out of Sessions.
  1. Select the small arrow.
  2. Choose Start, Explore or Draft.
  3. Select the button, which now shows your choice.

MedLibro keeps your choice on this device for your next session.

Start and Explore add a new session each time, even with the same filters. Draft with the same filters opens the same temporary session again.

Choose a year outside your plan

A year or a module that your plan does not cover shows a lock. You can still choose it, and a line under the year says that its questions open as previews.

In the session, you can answer what your plan covers, and MedLibro stops at the rest. See A session with a lock and the plans.
